What money ???

crabby tomato

In 13 yrs as a lone parent I've learnt to deal with a range of things without almost batting an eyelidTongue out

However as my daughter gets older I seem to have less money and without doubt my one insurmountable problem is debt.

In the last 2 weeks I've had to firefight eviction, deal with a gas debt collector and today I've had my 2nd council tax bailiff visit- complete with van. Our debts as loneparents don't get smaller- just bigger- like our children. And our incomes get smaller.

All this fuss over pensions-find me one lone parent who is more worried about their pension than making sure they have enough electric on their meter and food to make today.

Yes, crabby tomato I know exactly what you mean. Years ago there used to be an increase in the benefit amount once a child was 13 and I always thought this was fair as EVERYTHING costs more when they are older, plus they eat more. Feeding my son feels like feeding that plant on Little Shop of Horrors Surprised

We have a money expert on the board, from the Citizen's Advice Bureau, you can get help from them by clicking here.
