Did you read about the Youth Employment Scheme Nick clegg announced yesterday?
The money for this scheme is coming out of the Tax Credits budget, by freezing all payments for the next three years. Wonderful!

Totally agree that something needs to be done for the youth unemployment. This information regarding the TC freeeze came from an economist on BBC News yesterday. He too felt that the budget could come from other sources. I think the Foreign Aid budget needs to be reviewed, we're pumping money into India who have a Space Programme yet cannot look after their own...misplaced priorities.
That's a very interesting point of view, Helly13. I must say that I feel baffled by the whole thing. I believe that a Budget statement is due this week?
This is the rumour; I did not think the source of the money had been confirmed.
I do think a scheme to help youth employment is sorely needed. Some of us who have older children are already seeing how difficult it is for them to get a start. It is indeed a shame if tax credits suffer as a result, though.
Where do you think the money could have come from instead, as a better decision?
