My JSA stopped

mojomusk

I am a Student studying womens hairdrissing, i have already got my level 1 an 2 and am now on my last year at college, i only go part time an its just 11 hours a week but the job centre stopped my money an has now shut my claim because they said i go full time which i dont, it does not say anywhere on my learning agreement that my course is full time, there is a course code on my learning agreement which starts with 1F-CGDP the job centre told me that the F in the code means full time, i have taken the matter up with the college an they have told me and the job centre that the F in the code does mean FULL TIME. each course has its own code as far as i know.. The job centre have said that you can work part time or study part time up to 15 hours a week, so why have they been able to do this to me..? so many students have left the college because of this after working so hard for the past 2years just to be told on their final year that they either have to leave the college or stop claiming JSA.. I am so angre and upset as i have worked so hard and trying to better myself so that i am able to work an do something i love doing, this is so importent to me as i have no GCSE'S and find it so hard to find a job that will pay well.. and i am also homeless so to speck as im staying between my mums, my sisters and a friend.. the job centre know all of this. if i have no money i am not able to pay my way.. i want to finish college an get a job so that i can stand on my own 2 feet... Frown Cry

If anyone can help in any way i would be very greatful

Many Thanks

Hello mojomusk

How ridiculous! You are working and studing to get imporvide qualifications for a career and they pull the plug on you.

So have you asked if there is a money adviser at the college who has come across this before? Most colleges have an Information officer.

We have a money adviser on here who can have a look at whether you are entitled to Income Support or other help.....or whether you need to find some work to support yourself through the rest of this course. Click here to see the form to fill in for the money adviser.
