marriage upsets
hi
i am really depressed at the moment, i am married to a muslim man and he now tells me he wants to marry another woman. i no it is accepted in his religion but he told me he never would. we have 3 children and i don't want to be with him anymore. does anyone no where i could get help? no money for solicitors. i need to no what my rights are. we married under uk laws. please if anybody knows about this i need help.

Are you saying that you now want to be divorced from this man or to stop him taking a second wife? Having more than one wife is against UK laws, as Hazeleyes says.

Hi paulaalkurd. Welcome along to One Space. Sorry you're going through a bad time. I would say that given you married in the Uk, he cannot marry someone else, as this is bigamy. Have you told him you no longer want to be with him? Do you have friends or relatives you can turn too for support? How about the home you live in, is it rented or your own? Please do keep posting for the support and advice that you need.
