Going freelance
jadeasije
Hi to all fellow parents out there....
I'm about to be made redundant and have decided to go freelance and set up my own website, etc. I am a marketing and communications officer at the moment but have ten years experience so want to try consultancy/contracts.
I wanted to know if anyone has done anything similar, and if so if you had any insecurities about skills, finance, etc.
Any advice would be appreciated.
J

Hello jadeasije
Welcome to One Space!
Hopefully you will get some input from someone who has gone through this transition but I have some general information for you.
First of all have a word with your local JobCentre Plus, as one of our other members was told about a buisness start-up scheme that is coming on board. See here for the link where we discusss this. Secondly do use the free services of our one 1-2-1 Money Advice service who have lots of experience in matters financial. I would also recommend Business Link, who provide free courses in doing your own accounts and tax returns as well as being a mine of information
