Bristol International Balloon Festival FREE

The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is a world-class hot air ballooning festival, and is recognised as one of the UK’s top five outdoor events.  Founded in 1978, the Fiesta has become an icon for Bristol, and is just as synonymous with the city as Brunel’s famous Suspension Bridge.

Held in the rolling hills of Ashton Court on the edge of Bristol, the fiesta is hugely popular and completely free, attracting around half a million people across the country and beyond. The event takes place over four days and in 2012 this will be from 9th to 12th August.

There will also be the incredible spectacle of over 100 balloons of all shapes and sizes taking to the sky in mass ascents each morning and evening from Friday to Sunday, and of course the famousnight glows.
