     The Ministry of Food, a major new exhibition examining how the British public adapted to a world of food shortages, is coming soon to Imperial War Museum London.

South East London Organisations

Support services for families from the local area. Various groups for pre-school children and the carers throughout the week. There ia also a young parents group, and parenting skills courses. Toy library .
Greenwich Connections is a local voluntary organisation working for children, parents and carers, especially parents who are under stress and children in need. Services that help identify and meet the needs of families include: parenting groups, childcare and young carers service, advice and counselling service, holiday play scheme, activity days for young carers, fun with kids and a mini gym. Greenwich Connections accept referals from individuals or from professionals
Greenwich Toy & Leisure Library Association is a toy library for children with special needs  and their families / carers.
Aquarium, showing environments and ecosystems from British Pond Life, Rockpools, Fijian Coral Reefs, to Mangrove Swamps and  South American Rainforests. Creatures from across the world include jellyfish, seahorses and tropical monkey frogs amongst others. Open everyday except 24th - 26th December. Admission is free.

Newpin offers support to the carers of children aged under 5 in the Greenwich and Lewisham areas. There is a sitting room with free tea and coffee for the adults and and a playroom run by a childcare worker The centre will provide general support, with workshops in parent/child relationships and opportunities for creative play.

Single Parents Holistic Project was established by unemployed parents (Africans and refugees and asylum seekers) and now provides services to lone parents and residents of Hackney. 

Solace Women’s Aid offers a range of services for women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence. Offered are dedicated Legal, Advice, Counselling and Parenting Services and Domestic Violence Workshops, as well as Children’s Services, which include Individual and Group Support and Counselling.

Provides a wide range of services to all members of the community, with a focus being on the family and its members. Services include: Family Mediation, Home and School Mediation, Counselling, and Child Contact. Open Monday-Friday 10.00am - 5.00pm

Squirrels Educare, offer a wide range of childcare activities for children aged 2 years 9 months to 11 years.

 Pre-school   Caters for children aged 2 years 9 months until they go to full time school.  Variety of timings available between 9:00am and 3:00pm during Hampshire School Term Times.

Toy libraries offer services to local children, families and carers based on regular toy loan for a nominal fee (and sometimes free). They provide carefully selected toys to borrow, play sessions, and a friendly, informative meeting place for parents and carers.
