A centre for Bangladeshi women and women from other minority ethnic communities. Provides advice on benefits, housing, training, education, childcare, racial harassment, immigration and domestic violence. It also provides individual and couple counselling, training for unemployed women, work placement scheme, Saturday school, ESOL classes, adult education, Bengali classes, crèche, cultural events and under 5's playgroup.

Conservation group which works on the wildlife garden being developed at Belmont Infants School.

Provides training in childcare, councilling, parenting skills and health and social care, for the community of Broadwater Farm and the surrounding area.

 

Aims to help people local people into work. Provides managed workspaces and ICT training courses.

The Play service provides Camden's children with opportunities to play and enjoy their leisure time and to learn and develop in fun, friendly, safe and caring environments. Helping parents to work and study by offering and developing affordable childcare.

The City Apprentice course targets people living close to the City of London. Open to residents from the London Boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Southwark, the course offers six months support and training and is aimed at people who have been out of work for a long time, it prepares them for financially-based employment in the City. Elfrida Rathbone Camden is a charity which provides a range of free services to people with learning difficulties, disabilities and families under stress.

Provides community based, accessible services the community. Offer free and confidential information and advice on learning opportunities and career choices for adults. Accredited courses: ESOL classes (all levels), English for Office Skills, ESOL Citizenship, Community Health course, Information Technology (IT), Adult literacy and numeracy, Health and Social Care, Leisure and Tourism and NVQ in Childcare.

Freightliners is a small farm in Islington for local individuals and groups to learn from and interact with the environment and each other through animal care, horticulture and sustainable practices.  It's purpose is to provide an fun and learning for all. There are pigs and goats, lambs, honey bees and chicks, as well as gardens with fruit trees and herbs.

Haringey Chinese Centre aims to promote and develop social, educational, cultural and welfare services to meet the needs of the Chinese community, to help them in improving their quality of life, and to assist their integration into the wider community by working in partnership with Haringey Council and other local communities.

Haringey Families provides activities, events and services for the families who live in or around Haringey in North London. 

HARTS for Families is a free service for families who live in Haringey. The service works with up to 658 families at any one time providing advice and support around issues such as housing, benefits, accessing other services, education, training and employment. Emotional and practical support is also offered where there are domestic violence issues, problems with mental health, substance dependency, and child welfare concerns.

Aims to help children to develop a positive attitude towards life. Organises workshops, providing children with the opportunity to develop their creativity, interests and skills and develop their ability to communicate and empathise with others.

The Centre has its own IT facilities and every term offers free courses to suit all levels, ages and interest. Runs a number of classes aimed at lone parents. Provides French classes, after school clubs, Taekwondo,Yoga, woodcraft, antenatal/postnatal exercises, cranioscacral therapy and play gyms. Also offers counselling for individuals with psychosexual and relationship problems, in conjunction with Highbury Counselling Initiatives.

Advice on benefits, financial problems, family law, your rights, injuries, rent and mortgage arrears Employment  and  social security appeals representation can be arrangedl. This service is available only to people who live or work in Hackney.

Advice, support, advocacy and referral in Arabic, Kurdish, Turkish, Dari and Farsi to women, girls (or  couples) living in Britain

A busy and diverse arts venue based in Highgate which aims to enrich individuals and develop stronger communities through participation in the arts. Services currently delivered are classes and courses, after school and parents and toddler clubs.

Centre for women – including unemployed women, refugees and asylum seekers. Services offered include: skills training including ESOL and IT, employment advice, financial literacy and NVQ’s in Fashion & Design. Services for women at risk of domestic violence, forced marriages and mental health problems. Counselling service. Day care for older women. Health education. Advice & Guidance on a variety of issues including welfare state system. Range of interfaith and intercultural projects.

 

Aims to empower families living with a disability to overcome their social isolation and access the services they need. Provides support, activities and a common meeting ground for families who have a person with learning, physical and/or sensory disabilities to share experiences and support each other.

Help for mothers to be better prepared to raise their children; to support, guide and listen to women. The project provides a range of services that help them deal with health issues, family problems, education training, male dependency, drugs and teenage pregnancy.

Offers counselling and support to parents, carers, children and families. Provides a variety of workshops including parenting skills. Offers after-school clubs. English lessons, Turkish lessons and needlework lessons. SPACE (Supporting Parents and Carers/Children Equally).

ReStore Community Project is a charity which recycles and reuses domestic furniture and appliances for the benefit of people in need. Single Parents Holistic Project was established by unemployed parents (Africans and refugees and asylum seekers) and now provides services to lone parents and residents of Hackney. 

Solace Women’s Aid offers a range of services for women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence. Offered are dedicated Legal, Advice, Counselling and Parenting Services and Domestic Violence Workshops, as well as Children’s Services, which include Individual and Group Support and Counselling.

Toy libraries offer services to local children, families and carers based on regular toy loan for a nominal fee (and sometimes free). They provide carefully selected toys to borrow, play sessions, and a friendly, informative meeting place for parents and carers. The Centre is committed to making psychotherapy accessible to women who traditionally do not have equal access to psychotherapy including women from black and ethnic minority communities, refugees, asylum seekers, young women, disabled women and women on low incomes.
