Workers’ Educational Association - North East

Effective education can bring about changes in our perception, our attitude and our very beliefs.

The challenge of change pervades our programme in the North East Region, from the way we relate to our peers and our employers in the workplace, to our family and friends in Family Learning Programmes and to our neighbours in communities.

In the General Programme and in the Community Programme we broaden our underpinning understanding of the world around us through history and literature, while art and craft, and yoga, TaiChi and Shiatsu give us time for reflection, and to explore deep into ourselves so that we can move forward in our lives. Within these programmes we often help people develop, in a painless way, their underpinning literacy and numeracy “basic skills”.
