'Wild Animal' Family Fun Day - Newgate
Go Wild! at The Bowes Museum during half term with a fun packed programme of events planned for the Barnard Castle treasure house.
Zoolab wild animal demonstrations will offer an opportunity for children to learn about wild animals in an imaginative and interesting way, allowing youngsters to handle snakes, tarantulas, rats and cockroaches in a series of 30 minute sessions, bookable at reception on arrival.
If handling creepy crawlies gives you the shivers, then join the Museum’s Education Officer Amy Longstaff to create some less startling alternatives. Amy will be making pompom wild animals, moving card critters and springy spiral snakes as well as offering conservation activities and a fun wild animal trail. Children must be accompanied by an adult (for whom normal admission applies) for the above sessions.
