This project works with young people 13 - 25 living in Manchester, Salford and Trafford providing a range of services including counselling, individual support, group work and volunteering opportunities.

Advice and casework on welfare benefits, housing, debt and money problems. Initial advice on other rights issues like employment rights, consumer advice etc. Services for anyone who approaches the advice centre for help and lives or works in the catchment area: Moss Side, Hulme, Whalley Range, Chorlton, Rusholme, Fallowfield. Also provides advice to clients outside the catchment area but any casework is signposted to the client's nearest service provider.

The children's Centre provides a range of Education, Childcare, family support and outreach work services for families with children up to 5yrs.

Beat the Blues is a support group in Stockport providing information and support to anyone who thinks that they may be suffering from postnatal depression. The group was set up and is run by a group of mothers who have lived with postnatal depression. It offers a range of activities and an opportunity to talk to others who feel the same. Come and enjoy a slice of home made cake and a brew, join in with some arts and crafts or relax with a massage. What ever you choose to do you will find a very warm welcome awaits.

The centre provides lots of community services including: outreach and early intervention support, education and training for parents/carers with crèche support, parent and toddler groups, stay and play and community groups along with many other services.

Credit Unions are financial co-operatives owned and controlled by their members. They offer savings and loans plus they are local and ethical.Each Credit Union has a "common bond" which determines who can join it. The common bond for Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Credit Union is "Live or work in Blackpool, Fylde or Wyre".

Toy libraries offer services to local children, families and carers based on regular toy loan for a nominal fee (and sometimes free). They provide carefully selected toys to borrow, play sessions, and a friendly, informative meeting place for parents and carers.

Butterflies Children’s Centre provides services for young children and their families, offering a variety of play and development opportunities, c hildcare, health advice and guidance, and family support. services are suitable for children of age-range 0 to 5 years; and parents and carers of 0-5 year old children.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Sunderland is a charity that provides free debt counselling for everyone, regardless of faith or religion, through a series of home visits.

Advises on a whole range of subjects including: Welfare Benefits, Debt, Legal Problems, Consumer Matters, Family Problems, Immigration/Nationality, Access to Education and Health Services and Local information.

Trains volunteers to be community advice workers (usually take on one group a year). Volunteers have opportunities to do the Advice Work Training (AWT) course at Level 2, accredited by the Open College Network.

Also has opportunities for volunteer interpreters, and admin workers - minimum of 3 hours per week. 

 Christian Concern collect, restore and redistribute items of donated furniture. This is then passed on to needy people in the community, referred by professionals from other services.

CLASP offers support and help to those suddenly facing single parenthood; to those who have been a lone parent for a while; to single parents who parent from a distance; and to the children and young people within single parent families.

Provides practical workshops, one to one and group work to children, young poeple, mums experiencing/recovering from domestic violence in regards to Diverorce, Parenting and other issues.  Our service covers the Cheshire area.

The Grow and Sow Project delivers and develops healthy lifestyles through organic gardening, healthy eating and physical activities and is aimed at children aged 7-11. It also offers work experience and volunteer placements for adults. Adult and specialist workshops are available throughout the year eg.

HAFS provides services to the whole family unit of families in Halton who have a child or young adult with a condition within the broad range of ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders). HAFS is unique in this respect as most support

groups either cater for the affected person or parents. One of the first things you’ll notice at our meetings is the friendly and caring atmosphere. You are NOT alone anymore.

Home-start Manchester North recruits and trains local parent volunteers to provide emotional and practical support to families with young children. We provide non-judgemental, practical and emotional support and helps build the family's confidence and ability to cope. Volunteers offer friendship and an extra pair of hands to families with at least one child under 5 years.

HomeDad UK is a support group dedicated to helping dads who are staying at home to bring up their children. They have over 500 members who are either at home full-time, work part-time or are raising kids on their own.

Offers support to families living in the in Ardwick, West Gorton and Gorton areas of Manchester.

IFS CARLISLE is a donated reusable furniture and electrical goods service delivered by Impact Housing Association. The service collects furniture from homes and businesses across the north Cumbria area. The furniture is then checked and displayed in the warehouse at Carlisle where the general public can purchase items and have items delivered.

Opening hours:

Furniture at reasonable and affordable prices. Items are available for sale to any member of the public, but priority will always be given to those most in need in the area. Furniture and household goods can also be made available to those in difficulty or crisis via referral from a variety of agencies and partners.

Irish Community Care Merseyside is a registered charity, which exists to respond to the needs of both the Irish and Irish Traveller communities across Merseyside.

Sole2Sole, a new project in Bolton started in November 2011. It is dedicated solely to Lone Parents and is based on the principle of peer support.  We are providing a platform for lone parents to come together to combat issues that affect them; loneliness, isolation, confidence building, problem solving, parenting alone, learning new skills and training amongst others. We meet weekly as a group every Friday (9.30am).

Sure Start Children's Centres across Cumbria provide a range of information, services and activities for children aged up to 19 and their families.

West Cumbria Domestic Violence Support (WCDVS) offer a full advocacy and support service, including a confidential telephone helpline, ongoing professional counselling and family relationship training for victims/survivors, perpetrators their children, families, including parents, siblings and extended family and friends.
